Every Yoyang system ships as one complete package. Connect your DC 12V equipment and the system is ready to operate when sufficient solar energy is available.

🎯 What It Powers

  • Typical setup: 3–4 × mid-size PTZ cameras (5–10 W each) + 1 × DC 12V outdoor WiFi router: an example, not a fixed limit
  • Recommended load depends on the actual power draw of your cameras and router. Total continuous load must not exceed 60 W (5 A at DC 12V)
  • Backup duration depends on your total load, duty cycle, sunlight and local weather; see the conditions in the specification table. Send us your equipment list and we will size the system for your site

Rainy autonomy7–10 days: manufacturer’s rating for intermittent rain days with 2–3 h of weak-light charging per day at low average draw. This is not a continuous-runtime figure: with all 3–4 cameras and the router drawing power continuously, battery-only runtime is measured in hours, not days. Actual runtime depends on your total load, duty cycle and sunlight. Send us your equipment list and we will size the system for your site.
Recharge timeMeasured in sunny days from an empty battery, not hours; allow longer in the worst month
Typical loadExample: 3–4 × mid-size PTZ cameras (5–10 W each) + 1 × DC 12V router. Recommended load depends on the actual power draw of your cameras and router; total continuous load must not exceed 60 W (5 A at DC 12V).

Connector & Compatibility

Will It Plug Into Your Equipment?

Every Yoyang system uses one fixed standard output connector: a 5.5 × 2.1 mm DC barrel plug (DC5521) on the output lead. It is a common connector on 12V CCTV gear and small DC devices, not a narrow, special-purpose plug. Check your device’s socket size before ordering. Here is exactly what it powers.

Coverage

What this output powers, in three tiers

Plug in directly

12V DC supply · 5.5 × 2.1 mm socket

Your device runs on 12V DC and its power socket is 5.5 × 2.1 mm. The plug goes straight in, no adapter needed. This tier spans security, networking, lighting, agriculture and industrial terminals.

Typical equipment: CCTV cameras · DVR / NVR · outdoor CPE routers · wireless bridges · IR illuminators · LED flood lights · 12V sensors · access-control boards · ANPR cameras · DTU data terminals

One small adapter

Still 12V, different plug

The voltage is right, but the socket is not 5.5 × 2.1 mm. An inexpensive DC adapter or pigtail bridges it, with no change to the product and none to your device.

Typical equipment: bare-wire devices · screw-terminal devices · industrial sensors · equipment with a 5.5 × 2.5 mm socket

Not supported

Voltage or power does not match

Do not force-connect these. The wrong voltage or an overloaded output can damage both the device and the system.

Out of scope: 24V equipment · active PoE (802.3af/at, 48V) · 110V / 220V AC equipment · loads above the system output

Self-Check

Three checks before you order

01

Voltage on the nameplate

It must read 12V DC. Equipment marked 24V, 48V or 110–220V AC is not compatible.

02

Socket size

It should be 5.5 × 2.1 mm (5.5 mm outer, 2.1 mm inner), the socket on most 12V CCTV cameras. If it is 5.5 × 2.5 mm, use an adapter instead of plugging in directly.

03

Total load

Add up the rated wattage of everything that runs at the same time and compare it with the model you have in mind. Send us the device models and quantities if you would rather we check it for you.

⚠️ The 5.5 × 2.5 mm trap. A 2.1 mm plug pushed into a 2.5 mm socket feels like it fits. It does not conduct reliably: contact resistance rises, and equipment that works fine by day starts dropping off the network at night when current demand peaks. If your socket measures 5.5 × 2.5 mm, always use an adapter.
Quick Answers

Connector FAQs

Will it work with my CCTV camera?
In most cases, yes, but confirm your camera first. Many 12 V CCTV cameras use a 5.5 × 2.1 mm power socket, which is what our output plug is, so it connects straight in. Just check that the camera is 12 V DC and not active PoE.
My device takes bare wires or screw terminals. What then?
Use a DC5521 female-to-bare-wire (or terminal) adapter cable. These are inexpensive and easy to find locally or online, and they do not require any change to our product.
My socket is 5.5 × 2.5 mm. Can I plug in directly?
We do not recommend it. A 2.1 mm plug sits loose in a 2.5 mm socket and contact resistance rises, so the device may work by day but drop out or reboot at night when current demand increases. Use an adapter.
Can you change the connector to my own type?
No. Our systems are standardised production models with one fixed standard connector and no connector customisation, which is exactly what keeps them available at a stable price and lead time. An adapter achieves the same result.
My equipment is 24V or active PoE. Will it work?
No. 24V equipment and active PoE (802.3af/at, 48V) use a different power delivery method and need a different supply solution.
Can I power outdoor wireless bridges or CPE units?
If they are 12V DC direct-input, yes. If they are 12V passive PoE (the power supply injects 12V into the network cable), a 12V passive PoE injector lets our system power them. Note that 24V passive PoE equipment is not compatible.
Quick way to decide: if your equipment runs on 12V DC, has a 5.5 × 2.1 mm socket, and its total load is within the capacity of the model you are considering, it works directly. Different connector: add an adapter. 24V, active PoE and AC equipment are out of scope.
Load Check

Real-World Power Estimates

Typical DC 12V loads and how YO-P12060 handles them. Camera power draw varies by brand, resolution and recording mode: mid-size PTZ cameras typically draw 5–10 W each, so the examples below each use one typical value (mid-size PTZ ≈8 W, plus one DC 12V router ≈8 W); verify your own camera’s draw with us (free load check). Runtime on consecutive rainy days depends on your total load and duty cycle; the total continuous load must not exceed 60 W (5 A at DC 12V).
